Some gorgeous photos I took while in Egypt. December 2012

A sketch of my lovely Grandmother, still a work in progress.

I’ve drawn a wealth of inspiration from the wonderful works of Pablo Picasso, so I was naturally thrilled to discover that Tate Britain are running an exhibition exploring his influence upon British art. One of the works featured is his world famous ‘Weeping Woman’, and compared with my own work it is clear to see how his use of form and colour inspired me. I’m keen to see how he has inspired others on their creative ventures. This is a rare and wonderful opportunity I won’t miss! 15th Feb- 15th July

With the buzz of London Fashion Week dying down, there is one show that remains impossible to forget. Meadham Kirchhoff’s Fall 2012 collection was truly awe inspiring. They indulged in a wealth of textures from the slippery sequins, to the furry rainbow coloured coats. The fusion of neon pinks, oranges and blues with the smouldering tones of maroon and cobalt blue was a unique way to see colour taken to new and exciting heights.

Huge and well deserved recognition for the fabulous London based designers Jimmie Martin, commissioned to design a throne fit for the ‘Queen of Pop’ herself, Madonna. For her performance at the Super-Bowl XLVI, they created nothing shy of a masterpiece and their design was a vision of pure decadence. Bold, brassy and incomparable they have reinvigorated British design on a global scale, and have caught the eyes of millions.

I’m loving Anna Lockwood’s bold and exciting range of furniture, and here are my picks. They have all the splendor of vintage design, fused beautifully with a contemporary splash of colour, Lockwood is a girl after my own heart! I especially adore the rose inspired petal detail on the piece, which gives it an organic freshness.

I was sat on the back of a fabulous winged buddah as I dined at Archipelago last week and I truly and utterly fell in love with the place. Though it wasn’t only the exotic menu that caught my attention, but the wonderfully imaginative use of space. It is like Medusa’s lair, with a multiplicity of textures from the rough and scaly trunk of the plum trees, to the soft and delicate brush of a peacock feather. The rich and exotic colours create such a genuine ambiance of a land afar.
